"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge" - Albert Einstein
I am Ms. Ashley Davis and I am an avid learner. I love reading books of all genres and topics. My interest in history and cultures have driven me to reading and studying a variety of topics including the history of not only the United States of America but Asia and Europe as well. It is my hope to eventually have the opportunity to study these and other areas more in depth. I have always loved going to school and learning so many new things everyday. I can think of nothing more rewarding than to help other individuals see how amazing the world around us is.
I attended Hunterdon Central Regional High School and recently graduated from Raritan Valley Community College with an Associates Degree. In both schools I have maintained an Honors level GPA. However, more important than my grades is that I have loved learning everything my teachers and professors presented to me. Currently I am attending Kean University and intend to achieve a Bachelors Degree in History/Teaching with added Certification as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities grades K-12.

During High School I was involved in numerous Community Service projects, especially within the Future Educators Association. This included events such as helping host the Haunted High School on Halloween to eating lunch with a group of Disabled students to help them better socialize. However, the act I am most proud of is the project I was a part of for my Contemporary American Problems class in my senior year. Two girls and myself raised sixteen hundred dollars ($1600) for a local women’s shelter called Safe in Hunterdon. Raising that money and then presenting it to one of the shelter’s workers was so rewarding in its own right. My first year at Raritan Valley I had another service project, this time I volunteered with the Arc of Hunterdon in their after school program. In college I also participated in a Relay for Life with Phi Theta Kappa. Since coming to Kean University I joined Jumpstart, an Americorps Program aimed at helping improve literacy for low-income pre-schoolers.

In my free time I love to read, especially science fiction and fantasy. I love how these stories allow me to picture worlds and eras so different from our own. I also love nature and look forward to seeing the seasons change. I also love quotes whether they are inspiration, educational, or even reflective. Reading someone's words gives us a new way to look at the world.
